Q-Sense offers a whole range of substrates for different applications. All sensor crystals are specifically made for Q-Sense systems to ensure best possible measurement data.
QSX 301- Standard Gold The most commonly used sensor surface is pure gold. Au is chemically inert and easy to modify in different ways.
QSX 303 – Silicon Dioxide Main advantage utilised by customers is the ability to form lipid bilayers which act as a platform for further immobilisation of molecules.
QSX 304 - Stainless Steel Stainless steel surfaces may be used for studies of e.g. biofilm formation in process industry.
QSX 305 - Polystyrene QCM-D allows any thin film as substrate and polystyrene is the most commonly used polymer substrate. Other polymers can be spin-coated upon request.
QSX 310 - Titanium Titanium coated surfaces are mainly used for implant research. Adsorption of proteins or formation of Calcium Phosphate coatings are examples of applications.
QSX 327 - Hydroxyapatite Coated TiOx Hydroxyapaite coatings are widely used for implant applications since they mimic bone tissue and may improce implant integration.
Metals / oxides Q-Sense also supplies the following coatings: Aluminium trioxide, Platinum, Tantalum, Tantalum Nitride, Tungsten, Copper, Chromium, Iridium, Iron, Silicone carbide, Iron carbide, Silver and Cobalt. Other metals / oxides upon request.
Polymers PE, PP, PMMA, PUUR and other polymers upon request.
