Q-Sense first order in Australia

The QCM-D technique, patented by Q-Sense AB, Göteborg, Sweden, is gaining acceptance in the international research community. Recently Q-Sense got its first order in Australia and has by that presence at universities and companies in Europe, North America and Asia, as well as in Australia. Eva-Carin Tengberg, president at Q-Sense says: "We are very pleased to see that QCM-D has been established as one of the techniques that researchers, working with surface related biological and chemical applications, really desire". "We foresee a continuous steady growth of instruments and publications the next couple of years".

About Q-Sense AB
Q-Sense AB was founded in 1996 on the basis of the patented technique, QCM-D. Until 1999 focus was on technology and product development. Early year 2000, the company entered a more commercial phase and has since then, successfully sold research instruments to academic and industrial scientists worldwide.

QCM-D Technology
The QCM-D technique determines the mass of very thin surface bound layers and simultaneously gives information about their viscoelastic properties. This offers new opportunities to study conformational changes in layers formed on different surface materials, for example biomaterials. The unique properties of QCM-D make it an invaluable tool for studying macromolecules at surfaces and an important complement to existing technologies. Applications include biofouling, biomaterials, drug development and surfactants.
