Over 100 QCM-D publications
In 2004 the number of QCM-D publications increased rapidly. In the autumn, the 100th publication was accepted which constitutes an important milestone in the history of Q-Sense. The growth is exponential; in 2004 the number of new QCM-D articles was 43 to compare with 18 in 2003 and 11 in 2002.

Increase in number of publications
The number of publications that includes QCM-D results increases rapidly. So far during 2004 Q-Sense has seen 14 new publications in journals such as Biomaterials, Macromolecules, Journal of American Chemical Society, Colloids and Surfaces B; Biointerfaces and Langmuir.

Reference centre agreement with Rutgers University, New Jersey
Professor Joachim Kohn joined Q-Sense reference centre program to explore QCM-D within the biomaterials area. Application interests include biodegradable polymers and protein adsorption to polymer surfaces. Rutgers University will become an important link for Q-Sense to the New Jersey region.

Max Planck Institute of Polymer Research co-operates with Q-Sense
Professor Wolfgang Knoll decided to co-operate with Q-Sense to further explore QCM-D within his research interests and to become a Q-Sense reference center. The research will be carried out at National University of Singapore where Professor Knoll is distinguished professor. The research also involves people from the National Institute of Advanced Science and Technology in Higashi, Japan. Q-Sense has now formed a very strong network of prominent researchers to secure a long term successful development of QCM-D research instruments.

On the 21st of March 2001, Q-Sense established its first subsidiary by starting Q-Sense Inc. in the state of California. President of Q-Sense Inc. is Patrik Dahlqvist who has been working for Q-Sense since the commercial start of the company. The office is located in Orange County, Newport Beach.

QTools gives the opportunity to characterize overlayers in detail when it comes to density, thickness, elasticity and viscocity. The software will help researchers to further understand the adsorption process of different molecules. Frequency and Dissipation measurements on several harmonics are essential input to QTools.
