The new Hydroxyapatite coated surface from Q-Sense consists of a 10 nm thin, uniform, nanocrystalline Hydroxyapatite (Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2) coating, produced and patented by Promimic AB (Sweden). The HA is coated on top of Ti coated sensors, is stable over a wide pH range and offers completely new application opportunities.
Protein adsorption and cell adhesion can easily be studied in situ when using the surface in combination with a QCM-D system. Issues such as implant integration can be addressed in a proper manner.
