QCM-D Data Analysis
Q-Sense software package includes QTools data analysis software which enables extensive possibilities to analyze and quantify measurement data, from plotting to advanced modeling.
Typical output parameters from QTools data analysis are:
- Thickness or mass vs time
- Structural (viscoelastic) properties vs time
- Kinetic constants
Other features in QTools include plotting of raw data or modeled data, export of data and plots and the possibility to enter own mathematical models. The figure below shows the thickness of a biofilm achieved by viscoelastic modeling in QTools.

To quantify a soft film in terms of thickness or mass, viscoelastic modeling is required which takes both frequency and dissipation data into account. The Sauerbrey equation can be used to quantify rigid films but is not valid for soft films.
We frequently offer live training webinars on QCM-D data analysis with QTools. Please visit our webinar site to sign up or watch the recorded tutorials below.
